CPAI

In June of 2001 an independent consultant completed an evaluation of our program by using the Corrections Program Assessment Inventory (CPAI). The CPAI is an instrument for scoring a correctional program on the presence or absence of a number or “best practices” that are known, through research and clinical experience, to be effective in reducing criminal recidivism.

  • The CPAI has evaluated 135 programs across the nation. The average CPAI score is 35%.
  • Thistledew’s score was 72%

The score of 72% puts Thistledew in the “excellent” range.

The report concludes that “This overall score of 72% means that the Thistledew program ranks in the top 10% of corrections programs for juveniles.”

1995 Legislative Audit

In the 1995 Legislative Auditor’s report, corrections professionals rated Thistledew as the top program in terms of their level of satisfaction with the programs surveyed.
